BROADCAST 1: Metito’s point of view on construction change

We’re seeing a slowdown of some sorts in the region in certain types of projects, says Rami Ghandour, managing director at Metito. “We are looking at people being more interested in alternative financed projects so that they can take on board something that is more sustainable … such as a BOT [build, operate, transfer] or PPP [public-private partnership]; something where the end user or the client is paying over time; it could be as simple as an EPCF [engineering, procurement, construction and financing], but more typically when you look at the whole life-cycle cost of the project and therefore you look at a BOT or a concession.” Source: Mashreq Live Broadcast
